Lead service line replacement
Lead service lines are being replaced (along East 5th Street) in conjunction with the upcoming East 5th Street Reconstruction project planned for this summer. Under this project, property owners will not be charged for the cost of the service line replacement.
The material of all water service lines will be verified during construction. If you have a lead line, you will be notified and given an opportunity to replace the line at no cost.
Message for E 5th Street residents and property owners
Property owners or residents may have been contacted recently in relation to identification of your privately owned water service line. This is the water pipe that extends from the water shutoff near the street into your home, connecting to your water meter. E 5th Street residents should have received one of the following letters outlining the next steps based on your home’s water service lines.
